Colin Leather receiving MBE for services to ancient capital
MBE recipient Colin Leather says it's been a 'pleasure and privilege' to serve Castletown.
He was one of the Manx residents recognised in The Queen's New Year's Honours.
One of the Island's longest standing chairmen, he's been chair of Castletown Commissioners on six occasions.
The other Manx residents receiving New Years Honours are Bernadette Williams - with an MBE for services to the Island and Royal British Legion - and Alex Townsend who got a British Empire Medal for services to Manx education.
Mr Leather says it was 'a huge shock' when he found out he'd be receiving the accolade:
