The Department of Social Care has reiterated it is looking for a long-term solution for Jurby Stores.
The shop closed last week, leaving residents of the village with a journey to Andreas or Sulby to buy groceries.
Negotiations with Mr and Mrs Gubby, the owners of the One Stop Shop in Ballaugh, to provide a temporary outlet in the village, have stalled.
Spokesperson Deborah Reeve says the department is looking for a permanent fix:
