Land could support surge in demand
The Manx National Farmers Union says there is 'unused potential' in the agriculture industry - should the need for local produce grow.
A period of drought over the summer has created unprecedented shortfalls across Europe, which the MNFU fears could set Island farms back by more than a decade.
It's thought it will take around three years for local farmers to recoup their financial losses.
As government seeks to grow the Island's population, questions have been raised about the future sustainability of our food supplies.
