An online poker journalist says a takeover of Manx-based Pokerstars will be the beginning of a new era for the game in the United States.
Chris Grove, editor of Chicago-based Online Poker Review, says the $5 billion deal which will see the Rational Group bought by Canadian firm Amaya will mean a sea-change for the American egaming market.
He says Pokerstars should now find it much easier to apply for licenses to operate in states such as New Jersey and Nevada, where there’s previously been significant opposition.
