An elderly Douglas man will have to pay for a window in his property to be repaired, after it was smashed by vandals.
It happened late last night on the corner of Allan Street and Peveril Street.
At least one resident heard the sound of broken glass and alerted police.
Officers describe it as a "pathetic and pointless" act which means a 90 year-old man will have to find funds he can ill afford to repair the damage.
They say if whoever was responsible has a conscience they should come forward.
