Police in the Isle of Man say they are seeking advice from the Attorney General over the sentencing of Harold Volante, for four offences of indecent assault on young girls.
Sixty-two year-old Volante, a former gymnastics coach from Cooil Road, Douglas, was yesterday handed a twelve month jail sentence, suspended for two years.
He was found guilty on four counts of indecent assault on girls aged between 10 and 15, after a four week trial.
A statement from the PolicePublic Protection Unit appears to suggest unhappiness over the sentence, but there's no official comment on whether an appeal is being considered.
