Police concern over irresponsible Christmas behaviour

Busy weekend for force as revellers get in party mood

Police say dealing with drunken revellers over the festive period can become 'tiresome'.

It's a busy weekend for the force, with hundreds of partygoers hitting the streets to enjoy the pre-Christmas festivities.

Last weekend saw a high number of arrests for drink-related offences - ten residents were picked up for offences ranging from disorderly conduct to skipping taxi fares.

Inspector Derek Flint says it's an unpleasant side-effect of the season
