Leaving smashed bottles and other litter at the beach can cause serious injuries and harm wildlife.
That's the warning from the Northern Neighbourhood Policing Team following reports of littering at Ballaugh Beach, both at the shore and in the barbecue area
Police say one member of the public removed 10 bags of rubbish and broken glass from the beach.
Officers will be attending beach party hotspots over the weekend to ensure those attending take their rubbish home with them, while Beach Buddies will be holding its weekly beach cleaning session at the south end of Ballaugh beach tomorrow from 10.30am.
