Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious accident at Ballig Bridge on Wednesday afternoon.
The incident happened shortly before 4pm and involved a blue Renault Megane and a silver Land Rover Defender.
The driver of the Land Rover was taken to Noble's Hospital with injuries described as serious, but not life threatening.
The other motorist was also helped by the emergency services.
The road between Ballacraine and Barregarrow Crossroads was closed for two hours while the emergency services dealt with the incident.
