The public in the west of the Island will get their chance to quiz police chiefs about cuts to their budget tonight (Tues).
A major programme of restructuring and modernisation was announced three months ago, including an 11 per cent reduction in officers and the closure of two police stations.
Chief Constable Gary Roberts and Home Affairs Minister Juan Watterson, will be among those on hand to answer questions from the floor this evening in the latest in a series of public meetings around the Island being organised by the Police Consultative Forum.
Patrick Commissioner Adrian Christian represents the west on the police consultative forum.
He says whilst the cuts won't be welcome in many quarters there could be some improvements in certain areas.
However, Mr Christian echoes the Chief Constables view that these are the last cuts which can be made whilst still maintaining an effective policing force for the Island and going forward there needs to be inflationary increases across the board for the police.
