7 children spoken to last year were under the age of 10
It's important to take action to divert children away from offending when they first come to the attention of the police.
That's from the justice and home affairs minister, who says she's keen to see a reduction in the number of youngsters who reoffend.
Jane Poole-Wilson told a Tynwald committee the Police Early Action Team deals with around 400 incidents involving children each year, with seven children under the age of 10 spoken to last year.
