Police name victim of road traffic collision in Peel

61-year-old Stephen Hands succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

Police have confirmed the identity of the motorcyclist who sustained life-threatening injuries following a road traffic collision in Peel.

On Tuesday (6 May) Stephen Hands had to be flown to a hospital in the UK following an incident involving a motorcycle and a white transit connect van at the junction of Glenn Mooar Road and Poortown Road.

The 61-year-old succumbed to his injuries and passed away in hospital.

WITNESSES 

Police are now appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.
 
In particular, officers would like to speak to the driver of a white van that was travelling towards Ballig Bridge from the direction of Peel on the Poortown Road. 

There's also an appeal for anyone, who may have been traveling in the area at the time, with dashcam footage.
