Police in Douglas have issued a further statement on their search for the Mayoress's chain of office which has gone missing.
Officers say they are 'working closely' with Douglas Corporation to establish just what happened to the item of regalia.
Initially, councillors refused to say which chain had gone AWOL, but earlier this week, admitted it was that used by the town's Mayoress.
It's thought the chain was lost before the curent mayor Michael Gelling took office.
In his statement, Sergeant Ged Power urges any member of the public who has useful information to come forward.
