40mph limit introduced last month
Police say a combination of the Island-wide speed limit of 40mph and having fewer vehicles on the Island's roads, is having a significant impact on the number of collisions on Manx roads.
In a post on social media, the force says ordinarily at this time of year it would receive one or two crashes per day reported.
However, since the 40mph limit has been in place and traffic levels on the Island's roads have been reduced, officers say they have had reports of two collisions, and no one has been injured.
The temporary speed limit has now been in place since 27 March, ten days ago, as one of the measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
