Scrap stealers raid Fleshwick
Police say a substantial theft of copper from Manx Utilities can't go unpunished - and ask witnesses to come forward.
The metal wires were taken from a site at the weekend, and the copper was extracted before the remnants were discarded on Fleshwick (Flesh-ick) Beach.
It's viewed as a valuable scrap because it can be recycled for multiple use - like fibre optics, in electrical products, and for materials used by plumbers.
It's hard to trace, but officers have contacted Manx scrap dealers to identify it.
Officers ask that anyone with information get in touch by contacting Police Headquarters on 631 212.
