19-year-old fined for being drunk and incapable
A teenager from Ramsey has been fined £160 after being found lying face down in the centre of the town’s Swing Bridge.
Jacob Hall, of North Shore Road, was located by a police sergeant, just after midnight on 4 November, unable to talk, stand or walk.
At Douglas Courthouse the 19-year-old admitted being drunk and incapable.
The court heard Hall had been arrested to ‘maintain his safety’ with the prosecutor adding it was a ‘shocking state to find someone in’.
Hall’s advocate said her client had been out drinking and was attempting to go home adding: “He accepts he was not capable of looking after himself. This is a single incident which he can learn from.”
Fining Hall, and ordering him to pay prosecution costs of £125, Deputy High Bailiff Rachael Braidwood told him: “You were obviously in a very vulnerable position.”
