Ramsey police station opened again this morning after an old hand grenade, handed in to officers last night, lead to its temporary closure.
Following expert advice and usual practice, the grenade was left inside while authorities were contacted, and it was decided to evacuate the building.
A temporary station was set up in a van nearby, and phone calls were diverted to police headquarters in Douglas.
At around 10.30am, a search team adviser, in liaison with experts in the United Kingdom, declared the grenade safe and the station was re-opened.
Inspector Derek Flint is thanking all parties involved and hopes members of the public weren't too inconvenienced.

The temporary closure of the station meant this morning's meeting of the Northern Neighbourhood Community Partnership had to be cancelled.
The next meeting will be at 11am on Tuesday, October 6.
