Statement made after social media outcry
Police say officers 'used approved techniques' as they restrained a juvenile girl, in a video which has gone viral on social media.
In a statement, the Constabulary also argue the footage 'does not capture the full context of the incident'.
The eight-second clip, which depicts officers arresting the girl, caused considerable public outcry as it was shared on Facebook - with allegations of misconduct and excessive use of force.
Police went on to state 'all our officers undergo mandatory training in the use of control and restraint'.
The Constabulary say they will not comment further, given that the incident involves a minor.
