Discless tax means no tax at all
If you’ve bought a car in the UK that came with paperless tax, Manx police say you may well be committing a crime.
Sergeant Stephen Lapsley of the Island’s Roads Policing Unit says the new UK system which did away with tax discs means vehicles imported to the Isle of Man are untaxed from the moment they arrive.
He says in recent weeks officers have come across a number of such UK-plated cars which should have been re-registered and taxed here.
