Budget committee to report back by end of February 2026
Public money should be spent where politicians say it's going to be spent, according to one of the members of a committee looking at how the budget process works.
Douglas Central MHK Chris Thomas is one of five members of the Select Committee on the Role of the Legislature in the Budget Process.
The panel was established following a debate on how politicians approve the budget in Tynwald each year, and will report back by the end of February 2026.
With any changes unlikely to be in force before the next administration, Mr Thomas says it will be an important issue at the next election:
