Chief Minister Tony Brown is dismissing criticism from a local union representative, which followed Tynwald's approval of sweeping changes to public sector pensions in the Isle of Man.
Angela Moffatt of Prospect accused some members of hypocrisy after all but six of them backed plans which will require 7,000 public servants to make higher contributions.
However, with a need to protect existing and future pensions as well as the taxpayer from growing liabilities, Mr Brown says Tuesday's vote shows how seriously members view the issue.
He is also telling Ms Moffatt that politicians' pensions are next for scrutiny:
