Major Charles Wilson was president of the Manx British Royal Legion
An army veteran synonymous with the Island's annual poppy appeal has died.
The Manx branch of the British Royal Legion has announced the death of its president, Major Charles Wilson.
As well as his work on the poppy appeal, Major Wilson has been a leading figure in Armed Forces Day, and also campaigned to ensure TV licences remained free for over 75s.
The Manx Legion has thanked Major Wilson for his support over the years, and offered its condolences to his family.
During an interview on Remembrance Sunday in 2017 Major Charles told Judith Ley it was important for the act of remembrance to continue:
