People must be encouraged back here, says Craine
A local statistician says population figures are a better measure of the Manx economy's performance than gross national product.
Paul Craine says results of the 2016 census reveal a serious shift in the age profile of the Island, with potentially major consequences for jobs and services.
The statistics show that young people leaving Manx shores far exceed those coming in, whilst overall the population is down 1.4%.
Mr Craine says it's a major issue:

Fundraiser to keep St John Ambulance emergency fleet on the road
Ayre and Michael MHKs request meeting with commissioners over rates
Data breach impact rises sharply as cyber incidents affect thousands on Isle of Man
Reassurance for local telecare users and community support offerÂ
Mountain Road remains closed
