People must be encouraged back here, says Craine
A local statistician says population figures are a better measure of the Manx economy's performance than gross national product.
Paul Craine says results of the 2016 census reveal a serious shift in the age profile of the Island, with potentially major consequences for jobs and services.
The statistics show that young people leaving Manx shores far exceed those coming in, whilst overall the population is down 1.4%.
