IOM Coastguard encourages people to keep dogs on leads
Isle of Man Coastguard is appealing to all dog owners to walk their pets on leads after having to rescue a dog in the south of the Island.
Port Erin Coastguard Rescue Team was called to the Calf Sound yesterday, to rescue a Collie that had fallen down a chasm.
After what's been described as a particularly technical rescue due to the narrow gully and difficult access, the dog was successfully rescued with no injuries.
In a bid to reduce these types of incidents from happening, both IOM Coastguard and the IOM Constabulary have put out pleas to the public, imploring people to exercise at home, start from home or, if you have to, go to the nearest, safest location.
