Cameras to be installed on completion of scheme
Port Erin Commissioners are planning to install CCTV cameras in Athol Park after the refurbishment of the play area has been completed.
Chairman Godfrey Egee says the popular spot has suffered in the past from incidents of anti-social behaviour, an issue the board is keen to address.
Commissioners also want to 'keep an eye' on the new play areas following the £90,000 revamp due to take place this August.
A separate budget has been agreed for the cameras, and whilst their eventual location has yet to be chosen, Mr Egee suggests they'll be overlooking both ends of the park.
He says the commissioners feel it's right to introduce the technology:
