A Port Erin man seriously injured in the massive explosion which destroyed his family’s home on Tuesday has moved out of intensive care at Noble’s Hospital.
Retired teacher, 55 year-old Jim Horan, was rescued by his son Ben after the explosion at their Maine Road home.
Twenty-seven year-old Ben also rescued his younger brother Jamie and friend, Laszlo Mohlnar.
Fire chiefs confirmed earlier this week it’s likely the house will have to be demolished.
It’s thought the explosion was caused by a gas leak from a mains pipe, although investigations are continuing.
