A Port Erin veteran resident who celebrated his 100th birthday last year, made an appearance at St John's Remembrance event on Sunday.
James Fenton also represented Burma Veterans at London's Cenotaph last November.
He was a Bombardier with 178 Field Regiment of the Royal Artillery during WWII. At the age of 20, he was sent to fight in the steamy jungles of Burma as part of the 14th Army, the so-called “Forgotten Army”.
He moved to the Isle of Man following a career in design and opened a photographic museum, which was a passion of his even whilst serving in the warzone.
He told Manx Radio about his time in the jungles of Burma:
