Port St Mary's two lifeboats were called out yesterday evening (Sun 21) to go to the aid of a kite surfer.
They were launched at around 5pm after reports that the sportsman was in the water but had lost his board in the bay between Port St Mary breakwater and Pooil Vaish.
However it's understood the surfer managed to make it to shore without help, where he was attended by members of the coastguard service.
The lifeboats returned to base at 6pm.
