It's been a good year for herring, according to a specialised survey vessel which has been looking for the fish in Manx waters.
The Irish vessel followed the herring around the Island's coast, using sophisticated acoustic equipment to spot shoals.
The idea is to work out the numbers congregating in Manx waters, in order to judge how many can be caught next year.
Director of fisheries Andy Read says it does mean catching some herring for research purposes:
