EU countries will not accept passports issued more than 10 years ago

How long do you have left on your passport? And is it actually enough to get you where you're meant to be going on holiday this year?

A post-Brexit passport rule change is still catching out travellers several years on.

Manx Radio heard from a local person who got to the gate of her flight before being told her passport was not valid - that was despite having several months left on it.

Pre-Brexit, travellers from the UK and Isle of Man used to be able to carry up to nine months from an old passport over onto a new one.

But now, EU countries will not accept passports issued more than 10 years ago.

UK figures show up to 32 million people applied for passports before the new rules, but it is unknown how many have been affected.

Siobhán Fletcher spoke to Tony Lawrence from Vannin Travel, who says there's still a lot of confusion around the new rules:
