Chair dismisses claims subpostmasters have been 'bullied out of their contracts'
The chair of the Isle of Man Post Office says the organisation 'hasn't fired anybody' after announcing a series of changes to its retail network.
From 1 April, driving and vehicle licensing transactions will be withdrawn from the post office, while the remaining agency services - cashing Treasury cheques, bill payments and the Payment Exception Service (formerly MiCard) - will only be available in five post office locations: Douglas, Peel, Port Erin, Ramsey and Castletown.
Counters in Willaston, Union Mills and Royal Avenue will focus on postal services only, while the providers at Onchan and Foxdale have decided not to continue.
The post office says many of its retail partners have agreed to offer postal services for longer each day, while foreign exchange services will be included in Castletown for the first time.

Mr Peters faced questions about the changes in Tynwald this week:
Speaker of the House of Keys Juan Watterson said in Tynwald that the post office had been 'bullying sub postmasters out of their contracts'.
But Mr Peters told Manx Radio's Phil Gawne that's not the case:
