Customers promised space and choice
The decision to move Douglas town centre's post office into an empty unit in Strand Street will offer customers more space and choice.
That promise from Mannin Retail, the company which was awarded the contract for post office operations in Douglas and Ramsey in late 2014.
The firm had planned to relocate postal counter services in its Spar store a short distance away - but has dropped the idea in favour of a stand-alone unit in the former Carnival pub premises.
Mannin Retail's managing director Peter Whittaker says the new operation will take up half the available space - while a new business will be planted next door:
