The Onchan box was reverted to red after 10 years as gold
The Isle of Man Post Office has made a U-turn with its decision to revert a post box in Onchan back to its original colour.
It's stated that due to public disappointment, the move - which caused many of the Island's political figures to urge a rethink - will be reversed.
The post box was initially painted gold in 2012 in recognition of Manx cyclist Peter Kennaugh's success in the Olympic Games.
IOMPO Chief Executive Simon Kneen continues to insist the Kennaugh family and Onchan District Commissioners were consulted prior to the change.
However, both have previously denied the claim.
