The son of a former chief constable of the Isle of Man has been posthumously awarded the Queen's Gallantry Medal.
Forty year-old Detective Constable Stephen Oake (pictured) was stabbed to death at a house in Manchester in 2003 during a raid to arrest suspected terrorists.
His killer, Kamel Bourgass, was jailed for 22 years in 2004.
Stephen's father Robin Oake, a committed Christian, was later quoted as saying he was extremely proud of his son and forgave his killer.
Detective Constable Oake's widow, Lesley, has described the receipt of the Queen's Gallantry Medal as "great news" for her family.
