A man was arrested in the early hours of Monday morning after trying to get into parked cars in Crosby.
The 43 year old from Peel will appear in court next week charged with handling stolen property and being equipped to steal.
The police are asking Crosby residents to make sure their vehicles are secure, and notify them if their car has been tampered with.
They are also reminding people from across the Island to take care to avoid opportunistic theft and not become complacent.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Peel Police Station on 842208.
