There was a power cut around the Onchan area this evening (Tues)
It affected around 1,600 customers in Birchill, Berrywoods and parts of Governor's Hill at 5.45pm.
MEA engineers isolated the problem and the majority of supplies were restored within the hour. All households had supplies re-instated by 6.50pm
The fault has now been identified as being in a high voltage cable in the Governor's Hill area.
This has been isolated and engineers are working on repairs to the cable.
The MEA has apologised for the inconvenience to their customers.
