Clinical staff at Noble's Hospital are benefiting from pioneering life-saving training.
Acute Life Threatening Events Recognition and Treatment (ALERT) is a course for those who treat severely ill patients.
It trains them to recognise the early signs of deterioration in a person's condition, and to act appropriately.
Twenty Noble's Hospital nurses and doctors from a variety of specialities have learned how to become trainers for the ALERT course.
Health minister David Anderson said: 'This is a very innovative programme that puts our staff in an even better position to recognise and respond to the needs of very ill patients.'
