A potential scare for passengers on board the Ben-my-Chree this afternoon (Sunday) was quickly averted.
Parts of the boat filled up with smoke after a small fire started as the ship was travelling from Heysham en route to Douglas.
A chip pan fire in one of the vessel’s kitchens was quickly established and extinguished.
This passenger described what happened.
Despite the disruption, the ship arrived in Douglas on schedule.
