Manx brass players enjoyed great success in the North West Area Brass Band Finals held in Blackpool at the weekend.
The Manx National Youth Band and Manx Concert Brass came fourth in Section 1, against tough competition.
Section 1 is the top level of competition, and President of the band Sir Laurence New says the music which had to be played was particularly difficult (play attached audio file):
Douglas Town Band was placed second out of 20 bands in Section 3, with Ramsey Town Band 17th .
