
The Education Minister is insisting all 11 government pre-school nurseries will still be open when the new academic year starts in September – but they won’t be run by government.
Peter Karran has been in the firing line since the announcement of cost-cutting measures in his department as it bids to make savings of £2.9 million in the next financial year.
However, he’s vowed to protect teachers’ jobs and ensure all the facilities remain so they can be run privately.
