Peel’s bracing itself for an influx of Vikings today (Saturday) as a traditional event celebrates its half-century.
The town’s Viking longboat races take place in Peel Bay from 10am this morning, with free entertainment in the town for spectators and participants.
Around 80 teams are set to battle it out behind the oars.
Organiser Jimmy Lee says the teams are from a wide range of organisations, from companies to groups of pals:
Man who launched attack on van driver sentenced
RNLI's last serving Mersey class boat visits the Island
Double victory for Island's heritage railways
Demolition work to get underway on Douglas high street site
