Majority of public opposed to proposals
Measures which could have led to the axing of free prescriptions and eye tests will not be progressed.
That is the belief of the outgoing Health Minister.
Kate Beecroft stood down this week after being told she had lost the support of her departmental members.
Mrs Beecroft says cost-saving suggestions she brought forward as part of a consultation, which also proposed introducing dental charges, will go no further.
