President of Tynwald Noel Cringle has received backing from an MLC for his conduct towards the public gallery during Tuesday's sitting of the court.
David Callister called in to Talking Heads on Manx Radio today (Thursday) to comment on the issue, which was being floated during the programme.
The way Mr Cringle spoke to the gallery after they applauded Tony Brown's statement about the reciprocal health agreement has been criticised in some quarters.
That included many listeners to the programme today, who said Mr Cringle was brusque and had lacked respect - although some did side with him.
Mr Callister agrees and says Mr Cringle was well within his rights to lay down the law.
