Royal approval for Dan's charity
The Duke of Cambridge met with Dan Kneen's family during his visit to the Island this week.
In a social media post, the late rider's father described Prince William as a 'compassionate and understanding young man'.
Thirty-year-old Dan was killed in a qualifying session last Wednesday evening.
On Friday, his brother Ryan was honoured with the PokerStars Spirit of TT Award - for bravery in riding a practice lap just 48 hours after the tragedy.
Dad Richard Kneen says the royal specifically requested a private meeting with bereaved relatives on Wednesday.
He showed 'genuine interest' in Dan's life, career and achievements, and added he would like to see the TT carry on well into the future.
Partner Leanne then presented Prince William with a Dan Kneen T-shirt, which he promised to wear 'with pride'.
There was also discussion of setting up a charity in his memory, which was met with support.
