Four men accused of assaulted an inmate in the prison at Jurby last month have made a further appearance before the deputy high bailiff.
Twenty-four-year-old Geoffrey Ronald Barber, of Willaston Crescent in Douglas; Gavin William Patterson, 27, of Ballanowin, the Strang in Braddan; Ben Edward Clark, 24, and care of the prison; and 22-year-old Michael Joshua Hall, also of the prison, are charged with assaulting Craig Varey, causing actual bodily harm.
The Crown successfully applied for the matter to be dealt with at a Court of General Gaol, and the case was adjourned until July 29.
Mr Barber had his bail renewed and the other defendants will remain in custody until that date.
