Holistic approach needed to tackle criminal behaviour
More than nine in every ten offenders (92%) at the Isle of Man Prison successfully find accommodation after being released, it's been revealed.
It comes in the same week prison officers met with politicians to discuss issues of homelessness and re-offending.
Bob McColm is the Governor of the prison in Jurby, as well as heading up the Island's probation service.
He says those who find a suitable place to live after leaving prison are drastically less likely to end up back inside.
But he says tackling the issues requires an holistic approach to the root causes of criminal behaviour.
