Private solar power is the most favourably viewed renewable energy on the Island.
That's according to the results of a wide ranging survey which has just been carried out.
Islanders generally were in favour of green energy - though with reservations on how it may impact directly on their lives by causing a blot on the landscape, noise or air pollution.
The research was carried out by independent consultant Dr Felicity Greenwell, a consumer psychologist.
She says it's important for government to hear public opinion before forming any energy policy.
Dr Greenwell is returning to the Island in January to survey attitudes to offshore wind power.
