The community spirit among residents of Ballaugh has been recognised, with two prizes in the 2009 Island in Bloom Awards.
The success came in the small village and schools sections of the competition, with the latter award recognising the efforts of the pupils at Ballaugh primary.
Parent governor and local commissioner Heather Melvin says the children made a big contribution to the school's success:
