32-year-old was on short-term licence after serving time in prison
A man has been ordered to work with the probation service after admitting provoking behaviour at the Island's halfway house.
Roman Pszczolkowski appeared at Douglas Courthouse from custody at the Isle of Man Prison.
The 32-year-old had been released from prison on 8 August on short-term licence after serving time for causing actual bodily harm, and had been given a bed at Tromode House.
The court heard that on 4 September he was caught drinking in his room by two members of staff - something which is not permitted in the facility.
The bottles of vodka were removed, but Pszczolkowski attempted to force his way into the staff office in an effort to retrieve them.
Police were called to the building, and he was taken into custody.
On Tuesday (9 September) his advocate told the court he had had an argument with his partner on the day of the incident, and 'clearly had not thought through the consequences of his actions'.
He insisted Pszczolkowski was 'motivated to change'.
Imposing a two-year probation order alongside a 12-month licensing ban, Deputy High Bailiff Rachael Braidwood told him: "This was completely unacceptable behaviour.
"It is quite clear that your difficulties with alcohol continue."
She added: "I really hope you take advantage of the opportunity being given to you today."
